CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing in Denver

The CO2 laser resurfacing procedure is like a butterfly's metamorphosis: you shed your old cocoon and get an updated version of yourself. This upgraded technology, based on standard laser correction, delivers even more unprecedented results in treating wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, and deep pigmentation with minimal downtime and no side effects. This is your perfect moment to erase years from your skin and say goodbye to old insecurities - completely surgery-free.

How It Works

CO2 Laser Resurfacing: How It Works

At our Safi Miran Denver Medical Spa, we offer clients the ultimate laser skin resurfacing experience using the latest beauty tech. Our device works by splitting carbon dioxide laser energy into hundreds of tiny, warm beams that work wonders on your skin.

The fractional approach gently dissolves microscopic aging sections. Instead of hitting the entire surface, it targets specific pinpoints and leaves the surrounding area completely intact. The heat goes deep and triggers your body to restore itself, creating a new skin layer and producing its own collagen. Ultimately, the skin regains its firmness and elasticity, wrinkles smooth out, your complexion becomes even, and you get a noticeable lifting effect.

Treatment Steps

Fractional CO2 Laser Procedure

Every CO2 laser resurfacing session follows a few specific steps. But before we get you on the books, we always start with the absolute most important part - step zero, which is the initial consultation. This is a necessary condition for both you and us to determine your goals and guarantee our ability to achieve them. The entire process takes an average of 40 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

Step 1Cleansing the skin and removing makeup
Step 2Antiseptic treatment, numbing, and eye protection with glasses
Step 3Adjusting the laser settings and customizing the parameters
Step 4Performing the CO2 laser resurfacing on the selected target areas
Step 5Removing the remaining numbing cream and applying a specialized, deeply healing recovery cream

Safety & Expertise

Ensuring a Successful Outcome

The effectiveness and safety of the CO2 laser depend on the qualifications of the provider. It demands absolute precision to adjust the beam's penetration depth, dot density, and power. Parameter errors can lead to hyperpigmentation or burns.

Our advanced specialist, Anna Maria, has more than 20 years of background. She customizes the laser's power for each specific area, carefully looking at your skin's thickness, any imperfections, and exactly what you want to achieve. And this is 80% of the guaranteed success of the approach. The remaining 20% depends on the client and their compliance with post-recovery recommendations:

First 7 days: Avoid contact with tap water and generously use healing creams.
Within a month: Do not go to the gym or spa treatments, avoid being under the sun or tanning, and strictly apply SPF 50+.
Makeup restrictions: No makeup until the crusts completely fall off.
Do not attempt to speed up the peeling process: scratching your face, rubbing it with sponges or scrubs, or picking off dry flakes with your fingers.

Recovery Notes

Important Notes About the Therapy

During the session, the client may feel intense heat, tingling, or burning. Sometimes the zapping sound of the laser or the smell can be a bit uncomfortable too.
Immediately after the treatment, the skin looks heavily traumatized, swells, and burns. That intense sunburned sensation lasts for the first hour or two, and then it usually starts to feel quite tight.
Healing resembles the process of forming new skin after a mild burn; swelling, oozing, and peeling are completely normal. Full recovery occurs in approximately one month.
The skin must shed the old layer exclusively on its own under the influence of regenerating balms. Picking at the flakes or crusts early exposes raw, unprotected skin, which can leave you with stubborn dark spots or tiny permanent scars.
Aftercare Awareness

Red Flags

Knowing the difference between what is normal and what is a complication after such an aggressive procedure is critically important for you. Your recovery should follow a downward trend: with each passing day, your comfort and the appearance of your skin should improve.

Please reach out to us right away if anything feels off after your session. You should definitely let us know if you notice:

Tiny white bumps or clusters of watery blisters.
Yellow, oozing crusts on your face instead of normal, dry flakes.
Pain that doesn't start fading after 2 or 3 days.
Swelling that keeps getting worse instead of going down, feels hard or hot to the touch, or makes it tough to open your eyes.
The appearance of large watery blisters, similar to a household burn.
Intense, bright redness that won't fade even after 2 or 3 weeks.
A fever over 100.4°F, bad chills, feeling totally wiped out, or swollen lymph nodes.
